Snow Sharks in Venice, Italy & Innsbruck Austria
by Trip Leader Pat Weathers |
| The city of Venice, Italy is simply stunning and completely unique. We had the warmest weather in over two hundred years. We stayed a stone’s throw away from St. Marks Square, where all the partying took place. We toured the islands, took a gondola ride, & enjoyed the pageantry of Carnival. We visited the Piazza s. Marco, St. Mark’s Basilica, Dodge’s Palace, & the famous Rialto Bridge. We saw beautiful costumes, live entertainment, consumed great food & drank lots of wine! Next stop Innsbruck, Austria. Our trip took us over the beautiful countryside of Austria where we stopped for lunch at a local spot chosen by our bus driver, one of the highlights of our trip. Innsbruck, Austria was sponsored by the Florda Ski Council and what a great week we had! The weather was warm but we still skied some fabulous mountains, St. Anton’s was my favorite. The runs were wonderful if you stayed high. We experienced the Olympic bob-sled ride in Innsbruck, exciting and lasted all of 40 seconds, but what a rush. I wish everyone could enjoy Venice during carnival A good time was had by all! |
