Heavenly Valley, Kirkwood, Sierra at Tahoe, Northstar, Squaw Valley, and many other ski resorts dot Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains. Most Lake Tahoe ski resorts offer approximately 25% difficult, 50% intermediate and 25% beginner runs – great paces to cruise wide open runs with views of either Lake Tahoe or the valleys in Nevada. Snow boarders are welcome at all the resorts.
.....Horizon Resort Casino Hotel is a five minute walk to a downtown gondola for Heavenly Valley. This first class hotel, located in the heart of Lake Tahoe, features great on-site restaurants and is minutes from other fine dining, shopping, and entertainment. Trip leaders Henry McGrew and Terry England are planning a full spectrum sampling of skiing, dining, and entertainment. Six full days of skiing are followed by a visit to Napa Valley for a sampling of the libations offered by the finest wineries.
.....Friday night we arrive at the Holiday Inn Express at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco to take in the sights, sounds, and fun of the other “City by the Bay.” We will easily be able to see the Mier Woods, Sausalito, The Golden Gate Bridge, and the Maritime Museum all day Saturday and Saturday evening, before returning early Sunday morning to Clearwater.
