Park City Trip Report

No lift lines, great snow conditions, great weather, great accommodations, great meals, great skiing, great service and great people. It only seemed like a dream but it was real.

39 Snowsharks spent the week of the Sundance Film Festival in Park City Jan. 21-28, 2006 at the Westgate Park City Resort and Spa at The Canyons. Catching a 7:40AM direct flight from Tampa to Salt Lake City and then a short 40 minute bus ride from the airport to The Canyons, we were at the condo by noon. A little too early to check in but with our rentals on site it was early enough to get a free ½ day of skiing. What a great start.

After that first day, the group broke up into smaller groups and daily skied either The Canyons, Park City Mountain or Deer Valley. On Tuesday a small group did a day trip to Alta, which everyone thought was great and on Thursday another group did a day trip to Snowbird. The feeling was we enjoyed Alta much more than Snowbird.

Everyone met for a group meal on Wednesday night. All received a few nice gifts from the club and then we ate a great meal, enjoyed each others company, and talked about the stars we have seen so far. By the end of the week the list of stars seen by our group included Robert Redford, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgewick, Matt Dillon, Sam Shepard, Winona Ryder, Crispen Glover, Kevin Sorbo, William H. Macey, Jay O. Sanders, Al Gore and Hootey the Owl of Harry Potter fame.

The feedback was great and we will most likely be doing a trip back to Park City soon. In short, there is only one way to describe this trip, it would be um... great!
