Trip Report

| Our trip to Whistler was blessed with the most snow in recorded history. The snow on the lower part of the mountain can be problematic due to the low altitude, but was solid for us. The weather cooperated nicely, with fresh snow daily. The mountains (Whistler and Blackcomb) are immense. Several of our group were able to make the longest run on the continent in just an hour and a half from top to bottom! Our ride from Vancouver to the Chateau was through some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable, and well worth the ride. There were no complaints about our accommodations (other than the $17.50 price for a glass of wine!) . The way the ski and boot check was handled was a model of efficiency. If you had trouble walking up the steps to the lift, there was, of course, a valet to handle your skis. The only trouble with the Whistler trip was that it spoiled us rotten! |
